“Sometimes breaking the streak is the thing that proves what actually matters.”
Hey Rollers,
It’s Monday, which means I broke my Sunday newsletter streak.
It had become a bit of a ritual for me. Sitting with a cup of coffee on a Sunday and putting my thoughts down on paper. So I really had to wrestle with not getting to it yesterday.
But the reality was simple.
It just wasn’t more important than the other things I had going on, namely time with family.
I very nearly sacrificed some of that time to keep the streak alive, but I then remembered something from Dr. John Demartini around values. The things we truly value are usually reflected in where we naturally give our time, attention, energy, and space.
Not what we say matters, but what we consistently make room for.
So I made the call to ensure that what matters most to me actually received my time and attention yesterday.
And now here we are on a Monday morning.
My Sunday streak of 48 newsletters may be broken, but this is still week 49.
And who knows… maybe today is the start of a Monday streak instead.
Until next week.
Keep rolling.
